I'm Kai Boon, and I'm excited to launch this blog as a home for my thoughts on software engineering, leadership, and the intersection of traditional engineering with AI.

After years of writing on Medium and sharing knowledge through my work, I wanted a dedicated space to explore ideas more deeply. This site represents a fresh start where I can share what I'm learning, things I've built, and occasionally stories from outside the terminal.

A Bit About Me

I'm currently a Staff Engineer at Brex, where I'm building AI solutions in the accounting space. Before that, I was one of the first 10 engineers at Chronicle (before Google acquired us), built data ingestion infrastructure from the ground up, and worked on API infrastructure at Google that served teams across the company.

What gets me excited lately is how AI has transformed not just how we build software, but what we can build. I've been deep in the weeds with AI tooling and I'm fascinated by the possibilities ahead.
